516 (FIVE SIXTEEN)

by Katharine Clark Gray

This crackling taut three-hander from the hot pen of talented emerging playwright Katharine Clark Gray received its staged world premiere as part of The New York International Fringe Festival.

Named for a fictional graduate course in Media Studies, 516 FIVE SIXTEEN pits a brilliant dropout turned hired-gun term paper auteur and a foxy grad student with a thesis and a secret against an imperious, unyielding professor who holds their future in her hands.  Driven inexorably forward by pride, desire, and intellectual longing, this unrelenting trio grapples with the truth as much as each other and discovers to what lengths a person will go to find her true voice.  516 FIVE SIXTEEN is a dark sex farce for brainiacs, where porn meets 'Meet the Press'.
